Your DMC Partner in Mongolia

Welcome to Eternal Landscapes: Your DMC Partner in Mongolia

Eternal Landscapes is a small Mongolia-based travel company designing thoughtful, small-scale journeys across Mongolia.

Our work is rooted in long-term local partnerships, responsible tourism, and a belief that travel should reflect Mongolia as it is lived — with its people, landscapes, everyday realities, and the practical details that shape each journey.

We are a Mongolian-registered tourism business and a member of the Mongolian Tourism Association. Mongolia is not simply the destination we work in. Mongolia is not simply the destination we work in. It is the place w calls home, and the country where we have built relationships with families, community projects, and local partners over many years.

Most of our work is directly with our own guests, but we also welcome a small number of carefully chosen partnerships with companies and individuals whose values sit comfortably alongside ours.

We believe good DMC partnerships are built on clear communication, mutual respect, and an honest understanding of what is realistic on the ground.

Our way of working includes:

  • transparent costing

  • carefully paced itineraries shaped by Mongolia’s seasons, distances, weather, roads, and rural infrastructure

  • honest conversations about what is possible, what may be challenging, and where expectations may need adjusting

  • fair pay for the drivers, trip assistants, host families, local suppliers, and community partners who make each journey possible

  • long-term relationships built over many years, not short-term arrangements

From the first conversation, we aim to be straightforward. If we feel we are not the right fit for your programme — because of scale, style, budget, expectations, or operational approach — we will say so honestly. Where possible, we are also happy to suggest other Mongolia-based operators who may be better suited to your needs.

We do not publicly list our international partners, as we respect brand positioning and confidentiality. However, we are happy to share references and talk through our experience directly.

If you are looking for a Mongolia-based DMC that understands both international expectations and local realities, we would be pleased to hear from you.

We work best with international tour operators, travel designers, and organisations who:

  • value responsible, community-led tourism

  • prioritise strong local relationships over transactional service

  • bring small groups, typically under 20 guests

  • understand that Mongolia’s vast landscapes, changing weather, limited infrastructure, and long distances shape how journeys work

  • are open to honest conversations about expectations, especially where social media and influencers have shaped ideas that may not match the realities on the ground

We are not a high-volume operator. Our strength lies in honest logistics, long-standing relationships, and a clear understanding of what works — and what does not — across Mongolia’s seasons and regions.

Founded By Jess & Turuu

Eternal Landscapes was founded by Jess, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society recognised for her work in Mongolia, and her Mongolian business partner Turuu in 2010.

Together, they have built a small, Mongolia-based travel company shaped by long-term relationships, local knowledge, and a commitment to working in a way that benefits the people and communities involved in each journey.

We remain deliberately small. This allows us to offer a more personal, flexible way of working, while being open and honest about what is possible, what may be challenging, and whether we are the right fit for your programme.

Where We Work

We work across the entire country, conducting our own ongoing research to ensure an in-depth understanding of Mongolia’s diverse regions.

This approach provides us with the expertise to design meaningful experiences that embrace the unique benefits and challenges of each of Mongolia’s four distinct seasons.

Rather than working through local agents, we form long-term partnerships with communities and individuals who seek to supplement their income through tourism. This not only fosters authentic connections but also ensures that your tour payments directly benefit the rural communities you visit, contributing to equitable tourism.

Shaping Experiences Together

You may already have an idea, theme, or experience you would like to include in your Mongolia programme. We will look at how to make it work in a way that fits the realities on the ground.

We understand the appeal of Mongolia’s well-known images — nomadic herders, eagle hunters, Naadam, the Gobi, and the Tsaatan reindeer herding community. But Mongolia is also a modern 21st-century country, and we can help you include experiences that reflect its cities, creative industries, community projects, women-led initiatives, conservation work, and everyday life today.

Part of our role is to help broaden how Mongolia is presented. If our approach does not align with what you or your clients need, we will say so honestly and respect that.

As a Mongolia-based DMC, we build partnerships on trust, transparency, and shared benefit.

What to Expect from Partnering with Us

Your Brand Comes First

There is no cross-promotion. If you choose to name us as your Mongolian partner, we will still direct enquiries, questions, and guest communication back to you.

Clear Pricing

We provide clear pricing from the start, with discounts that recognise continued partnership over time.

No Standard Template

We do not use one-size-fits-all itineraries. Each programme is shaped around your guests, your style, and what works well in Mongolia.

Respect For Your Itineraries

We will not sell the same itinerary featured on your website to other operators or through our own platform.

Genuine Local Experiences

Our journeys include real local encounters, but always with respect for cultural, family, and community boundaries.

Open Communication

We keep you informed throughout the planning and operation of each journey, including any changes, challenges, or decisions that need to be made.

Honesty About Challenges

We will be open about any areas that may need careful handling, including cultural expectations, guiding style, infrastructure, logistics, or places where our team may face challenges. This helps everyone know what to expect before the journey begins.

Safety

We look carefully at each itinerary before it is sold, highlighting any safety concerns linked to routes, seasons, activities, distances, or local conditions.

Support When Plans Change

Mongolia can be unpredictable. Weather, roads, domestic flights, vehicles, and local conditions can all affect a journey. We work calmly and practically with our team on the ground to manage changes and keep you informed.

Responsible Tourism In Practise

As a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration and a member of Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency, we have our own Climate Action Plan. We work with you to try to design itineraries that reduce unnecessary impact in a country already strongly affected by climate change.

Learning From Feedback

We welcome feedback from you and your guests. It helps us improve future journeys, strengthen the partnership, and make sure expectations and delivery stay aligned.
